This role involves providing for patient needs through the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation), supporting the organization's mission, and supervising care provided by support staff and coordinating with ancillary services. Key responsibilities include involving patients and their families in care planning, educating them about their conditions and treatment plans, and advocating for patients. The nurse will provide care for patients with various medical, surgical, or other conditions, including chronic illnesses and minor injuries.

Requirements

• BSN degree
• Certification- ACLS required within 6 months for the Adult EDs and Free Standing EDs
• PALS required within 1 year of hire for the Free Standing EDs and required within 6 months for WCH ED

Responsibilities

• Provides for patient needs as recognized through use of the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) and the mission statement
• Organization and supervision of care provided by supportive personnel
• Coordination of care provided by ancillary services
• Including patients and significant others (SO)/families in developing an individualized plan of care
• Education of patients/SO/families to their disease process and plan of care
• Serves as patient advocate
• Responsible for providing care to patients requiring treatment of any medical, surgical, or other condition, including chronic medical and minor injuries or illnesses
