The Neighborhood Retirement Community is a beautiful CCRC in Rio Rancho. We are currently seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Medical Records Coordinator to join our team at The Neighborhood in Rio Rancho, NM. What you'll be doing: You will play a key role in supporting both residents and staff by managing incoming calls and ensuring resident and visitor needs are addressed promptly, professionally, and with exceptional customer service. In this role, you will help support person-centered, individualized care by facilitating the accurate and timely exchange of information between departments. You will oversee the completeness, maintenance, confidentiality, and security of medical records while ensuring compliance with company policies as well as State and Federal regulations. Additionally, you will review documentation for accuracy, completeness, and timeliness from nursing staff and the interdisciplinary team (IDT). You may also assist with implementing corrective actions, supporting compliance initiatives, and educating clinical staff on documentation standards and best practices.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in English reading and writing with a working knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly with electronic medical records systems (specifically PointClickCare and/or MatrixCare).
  • Knowledge of diagnostic coding and healthcare documentation standards.
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and work collaboratively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree or comparable training/experience in medical records, healthcare, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of medical records laws and regulations, as well as long-term care facility operations.
