This role plays an important part in strengthening patient care through quality improvement initiatives, chart audits, peer review coordination, and collaboration with clinical teams. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing (RN, MA) or allied health field with at least two years of experience in appropriate field (public health, quality assurance/quality improvement, health administration, or other health related field)
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects from start to finish.
  • High degree of accuracy, ability to prioritize work and manage time.
  • Maintains a professional relationship and positive attitude when communicating with staff at all levels.
  • Ability to teach others and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Ability to interpret data to improve patient experience.
  • Ability to develop computerized presentations.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
  • Intermediate level use of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of the Patient Centered Medical Home model, quality improvement principles and methodology.

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years Quality Improvement experience preferred
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma desired.

Responsibilities

  • Under the direction of the Director of Quality Improvement, the Quality Assurance Coordinator assists to plan, design, implement, and maintain a comprehensive quality improvement (QI) program.
  • Assists in educating new staff about QI systems and requirements.
  • Meets with internal and external audiences to identify and problem solve QI issues.
  • Monitors/audits clinical team efforts to ensure compliance with internal and external QI standards.
  • Reviews medical records and other documentation to ensure quality care.
  • Helps to prepare QI reports.
  • Coordinate peer review process
  • Pull specific charts for peer reviews to be completed
  • Send out specific paperwork needed to supervisors or peer review reviewees for peer reviews and forms to be used for yearly evaluation.
  • Track and communicate with providers on chart reviews.
  • Chart reviews and group review sessions for Rural Training Track residents
  • Support risk auditor by reviewing reports for accuracy and staff retraining as needed
  • Coordinates the effort to gather data and prepare reports to meet the requirements of HRSA, AAAHC and other regulatory/accrediting agencies, as directed by the Director of Quality Improvement
  • Evaluates variance and other data to identify QI opportunities
  • Adheres to organizational and departmental policies, procedures, and established best practices
  • Demonstrates a commitment to patient centered care
  • Other duties as assigned
