About The Position

The Center for Children with Special Needs (CCSN) is seeking a licensed psychologist, license-eligible psychologist, or psychology postdoctoral fellow to join our growing multidisciplinary evaluation team. This position is ideal for clinicians with experience and interest in the assessment and diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and related neurodevelopmental differences. The successful candidate will work alongside psychologists, behavior analysts, speech-language pathologists, and occupational therapists to provide comprehensive diagnostic evaluations for children, adolescents, and adults.

Requirements

  • Licensed or license-eligible psychologist in Connecticut.
  • Experience conducting psychological and diagnostic evaluations for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and related developmental differences.
  • Strong clinical interviewing, report-writing, and communication skills.
  • Commitment to evidence-based assessment and collaborative care.
  • Completion of a doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) from an APA-accredited or equivalent program.
  • Eligibility to begin postdoctoral supervised practice in Connecticut.
  • Training and experience in psychological assessment, developmental assessment, and/or autism evaluation.
  • Interest in developing specialization in autism and neurodevelopmental diagnostics.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive diagnostic evaluations for Autism Spectrum Disorder and related neurodevelopmental, behavioral, and learning differences.
  • Administer and interpret standardized psychological, developmental, cognitive, adaptive behavior, executive functioning, and social-emotional assessments.
  • Complete autism-specific assessment measures and diagnostic interviews.
  • Conduct observations when clinically indicated.
  • Develop individualized recommendations and treatment plans based on assessment findings.
  • Prepare clear, comprehensive psychological evaluation reports.
  • Present findings and recommendations to families, schools, medical providers, and other stakeholders.
  • Attend Planning and Placement Team (PPT) meetings as needed.
  • Collaborate with CCSN's interdisciplinary clinical team and administrative staff.
