About The Position

Responsible for assessment, treatment planning and provision of psychotherapy to a defined caseload of adult patients and families, on an inpatient and outpatient basis. Handle duties relating to intake, assessments, diagnosis, treatment planning and follow-up services for the assigned patients as well as maintaining appropriate documentation for services provided. Supports the mission and vision of the American University of Beirut Medical Center (AUBMC) and that of the Department of Psychiatry.

Requirements

Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology or Counseling Psychology
License to practice from the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health.
3 years of Post-Masters supervised experience in a clinical setting.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Arabic and English

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with a wide variety of equipment and therapeutic techniques is desirable.
French is an asset.

Responsibilities

Conduct in a safe, considerate and professional manner effective psychotherapeutic techniques consistent with the directions and goals established together with the patient.
Provide emergency intervention and assessment as required.
Evaluate treatment efficacy and patient progress to aid in establishing or revising specifics of treatment.
Communicate in a clear and concise manner any information that may influence the patient’s treatment program or well-being, including preparing clinical progress notes and other required documentation.
Complete mental status and psychosocial assessment of patients.
Provide urgent care and crisis intervention as indicated.
Provide more specialized treatment modalities when qualified.
Consult with other team members on patient care.
Review the appropriate medical records and patient history.
Participate in staff development meetings and in quality of care activities.
Perform other related duties as requested by direct supervisor.
