This role provides oversight to clinical teams in both residential and outpatient settings. Requirements

  • Master’s degree in behavioral sciences or social work.
  • Licensure to provide diagnosis and treatment for Substance Use Disorder and/or Mental Health in the state of employment.
  • Two (2) plus years of supervisory and/or management experience.
  • Five (5) years of behavioral healthcare clinical counseling or clinical case management work experience.
  • CPR Certification.
  • Valid unrestricted driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

  • Independent Licensure to provide diagnosis and treatment for Substance Use Disorder and/or Mental Health in the state of employment.
  • Supervisor licensure status (LPC-S, LMFT-S, LCSW-S).
  • Doctoral degree in healthcare or related field.
  • Additional education, training, or work experience in business management.
  • Seven (7) years of behavioral healthcare clinical counseling or clinical case management work experience.
  • Five (5) plus years of supervisory and/or management experience.
  • Work experience with healthcare accreditation, with preference within the substance abuse treatment industry.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees and manages clinical programming for residential and/or outpatient treatment facilities.
  • Assesses training needs and develops training programs for the clinical department, focusing on evidence-based practices, co-occurring care, and ongoing training.
  • Conducts observed sessions for clinical staff, providing feedback and coaching for professional growth.
  • Tracks and ensures completion of required licensure trainings (CPR, CEU, Relias, etc.).
  • Completes clinical chart reviews and provides training/coaching for documentation improvement.
  • Completes the Quarterly Clinical Chart Review Report, identifying trends and needed improvements.
  • Monitors patient survey information and develops performance improvement projects for the clinical department.
  • Leads Quarterly Clinical Department Meetings, providing feedback and data to the team, and completing meeting minutes.
  • Supports the delivery of clinical care as needed, including individual therapy, group therapy, and psychoeducation.
  • Supervises identified team members, including hiring, training, and performance reviews, providing routine feedback, leadership, and mentoring.
  • Directly supervises Assistant Clinical Program Directors, providing performance feedback and annual appraisals, and supporting their clinical oversight.
  • In the absence of an Assistant Clinical Program Director, directly supervises counseling staff and all aspects of clinical care, including case management, inpatient/outpatient services, and pastoral care.
  • Supports Assistant Clinical Program Directors with scheduling 'On Call', PTO, psychoeducation, and other programming coverage.
  • Oversees psychoeducation curriculum for the facility.
  • Facilitates staff meetings with assistance from Assistant Clinical Program Director and completes patient assignments.
  • Provides support during crises and after hours to counselors 'on call' with assistance from Assistant Clinical Program Director.
  • Leads facility performance improvement activities related to clinical services, collaborating with management to implement improvements.
  • Manages patient census for residential and/or outpatient treatment facilities to meet budgeted goals and ensure financial viability.
  • Assists with the facility’s annual budget in collaboration with the Executive Director to achieve financial goals.
  • Communicates areas of concern and issues to facility management and corporate leadership.
  • Maintains appropriate standards of patient confidentiality and ensures staff adherence to policies regarding patient information protection and HIPAA.
  • Ensures compliance with all Joint Commission guidelines related to admissions, facility administration, and ancillary support services.
  • Performs public relations activities to maximize patient referrals and ensure the facility is respected by external referral services.
  • Participates as necessary to ensure effective and ongoing alumni activities.
