About The Position

Acenda is seeking a Clinical Program Director to lead the Supportive Visitation Services (SVS) program. This program is designed to preserve and strengthen parent-child relationships through facilitated visitations between children in out-of-home placements and their families. The Clinical Program Director will provide administrative management, leadership, program development, and staff supervision. Key responsibilities include ensuring documentation accuracy, compliance with Medicaid billing, and maintaining program components for effective service delivery according to the SVS program model. The role requires strong interpersonal skills for collaboration with internal leadership and external system partners. Acenda values evidence-based practices, and the SVS program utilizes an evidence-based parenting model and a visit coaching model.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related behavioral health field.
  • Valid New Jersey professional clinical license; Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of experience providing mental health services.
  • At least two years delivering therapeutic or mental health services to children, adolescents, and/or families.
  • Prior supervisory experience required.
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record required.
  • Strong understanding of trauma-informed care and its impact on children and families.
  • Experience in crisis intervention, conflict resolution, and de-escalation techniques.
  • Demonstrated initiative, creativity, dependability, and reliability.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, ethical decision-making, and independent thinking in complex situations.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative management and leadership for the Supportive Visitation Services program.
  • Develop and implement program strategies to enhance effectiveness and staff performance.
  • Supervise, mentor, and support the professional development of visitation staff using the Supervision for Success model.
  • Oversee staff scheduling, productivity, and workload management.
  • Ensure intake assessments identify family strengths and needs and align with intervention goals.
  • Ensure Visit Planning Meetings are conducted within required timeframes.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with program leadership and staff for consistent service delivery.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with community partners.
  • Ensure staff adherence to program manuals, agency policies, and Department of Children and Families (DCF) guidelines.
  • Oversee staff documentation in the Electronic Client Record (ECR), DCF REDCap, and NJ Spirit databases.
  • Monitor program expenditures and billing processes for compliance.
  • Facilitate employee onboarding, orientation, and training.
  • Promote culturally responsive and competent service delivery.
  • Stay informed about issues and trends affecting program populations.
  • Communicate programmatic and operational concerns to leadership and recommend improvements.
  • Utilize Performance and Quality Improvement (PQI) data to support best practices.
  • Complete and submit accurate reports, records, and documentation.
  • Uphold ethical standards consistent with the NASW Code of Ethics.
  • Follow and promote adherence to agency and program policies and procedures.
  • Ensure the quality, professionalism, and accuracy of all communications.
  • Attend required agency and program meetings, trainings, and professional development activities.
  • Actively participate in initiatives to strengthen agency operations and program effectiveness.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and security requirements.
  • Oversee the collection and reporting of client demographic and treatment data.
  • Provide direct supervision and oversight to a team of Visitation Counselors and Visitation Therapists.
  • Offer clinical guidance and support to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Monitor and support the implementation of evidence-based interventions.
  • Utilize the Supervision for Success model for staff performance, coaching, accountability, and professional growth.
