About The Position

Cornerstone Christian Counseling offers unpaid practicum and internship opportunities for current master’s-level students pursuing mental health counseling or marriage and family therapy through a CACREP-accredited program. The program is designed for students who need clinical hours for graduation and future licensure. Opportunities are available at six Colorado offices: Castle Rock, Centennial, Colorado Springs, Lakewood, Westminster, and Wheat Ridge. Students may see clients in person at an office depending on availability, and may conduct some sessions via teletherapy if they have a private, professional home workspace. The program has three start dates each year: fall (August), spring (January), and summer (May). Students are not directly compensated for client services. Program provisions include paid supervision, professional office space, marketing, administrative and billing support, caseload management and strategy support, malpractice insurance, weekly trainings, consultation with licensed therapists across specialties and modalities, a resource library, and exposure to a variety of client demographics. Students must complete at least two consecutive semesters in the program; Cornerstone does not onboard students for only one semester. Practicum students must reserve seven hours of weekly availability for sessions, averaging three to five client hours per week. Internship students in their second or third semester must reserve 12 hours of weekly availability, averaging eight to ten client hours per week. All students must attend weekly group supervision on Wednesdays from 9–11 a.m. MDT and weekly triadic supervision. The optional internship group meeting is Tuesdays from 10–11 a.m. MDT. Students must also maintain at least one weeknight or Saturday availability block. First-Wednesday group meetings take place in person at the student’s office; other Wednesday meetings are online. This is a bring-your-own-device program. Students must provide a reliable PC or Mac with at least an i7 processor, 16 GB RAM, and a 256 GB SSD; stable high-speed internet; and a quiet, private, professional workspace with a high-resolution webcam and clear audio. Students are expected to use their personal laptops or computers and demonstrate software proficiency and independent technical troubleshooting. Applicants must agree to Cornerstone’s Statement of Faith, review program expectations, and submit an application and resume. Applications are reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis, and available places are limited, typically four to eight per semester.
