The Counseling and Wellness Center (CWC) at the University of Florida is offering multiple Adjunct Clinical Postdoctoral Associate positions for the 2027–2028 academic year. The positions provide advanced training in university counseling services and other health service psychology areas. Generalist training is available, with potential specialization in Psychological Assessment, Intensive Support (Suicide Prevention and Intervention), or Alcohol and Other Drugs Prevention and Intervention. Program development opportunities may also be available in collaboration with area coordinators. The training program follows the American Psychological Association’s profession-wide competencies, mental health ethics codes, and applicable state laws and rules. It aims to provide an appropriate balance of support and challenge, treating associates as early-career professionals with autonomy and responsibility while supporting continued training and development. Associates fulfill university counseling center clinician roles, including counseling, assessment, crisis intervention, referral, consultation, outreach, staff meetings, training seminars, and administrative functions. Responsibilities may be tailored with supervisors to support training goals and specialization. The program provides at least two hours of weekly face-to-face individual supervision, 1.5 hours of group supervision, didactic seminars, and other professional development opportunities. These are 12-month, 2,000-hour positions, including 900 hours of activities related to direct client contact and 500 direct service hours. The positions are designed to meet Florida licensure requirements. The salary is $62,000 for 12 months. The CWC supports students’ mental health and well-being and promotes personal, educational, and career development through high-quality, socially conscious services. Its primary focus is brief, confidential counseling to help students succeed academically and in interpersonal relationships. The Center provides trauma-informed support, including assistance with complex trauma and other adversities, and seeks to minimize non-consensual interventions, using them only after procedural due process and when other available resources have been exhausted. Its services include counseling, crisis intervention, stress management and biofeedback, outreach and prevention, consultation, training and supervision, assessment and referral, teaching, research, and scholarship. The staff consists of 55 clinicians in clinical psychology, counseling psychology, and counselor education.
