About The Position

Cherry County Hospital & Clinic is seeking a dedicated Clinical Pharmacist to join their healthcare team. This position plays a vital role in providing safe, high-quality pharmaceutical care while working closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to improve patient outcomes. The role involves dispensing and verifying medications, preparing and compounding medications (including IV admixtures, chemotherapy, and TPN), monitoring medication therapy, and collaborating with providers on medication management and patient counseling. The Clinical Pharmacist will also supervise pharmacy technicians and interns, maintain medication inventory and controlled substance records, and participate in quality improvement initiatives, policy development, and staff education. On-call responsibilities are also part of the role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy, Hospital Pharmacy Administration, or PharmD
  • Current Nebraska Pharmacist licensure (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to patient safety, confidentiality, and quality care

Nice To Haves

  • Hospital pharmacy experience preferred (1–3 years preferred, but qualified new graduates are encouraged to apply)

Responsibilities

  • Dispense and verify medications in accordance with Nebraska pharmacy regulations

  • Monitor medication therapy, dosing adjustments, and antimicrobial stewardship
  • Collaborate with providers on medication management and patient counseling
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians and interns
  • Maintain medication inventory, controlled substance records, and regulatory compliance
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, policy development, and staff education
  • Share in on-call responsibilities as assigned
