About The Position

Texas Health Plano is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist to join their Pharmacy department. This PRN role involves supporting high-acuity service lines such as ICU, stroke, oncology, and neonatal patient populations within a clinically integrated pharmacy practice model. The department fosters a collaborative culture that values open communication, peer support, and strong working relationships with providers and nursing. Pharmacists are empowered with clinical accountability and autonomy to make evidence-based interventions and drive medication safety. This is a fast-paced, team-oriented environment within a Level II Trauma Center, Level IV NICU, and Comprehensive Stroke Center, offering exposure to complex patient populations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Pharmacy is required Or Other Pharm.D. is required
  • Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency is required
  • PHAR - Pharmacist Upon Hire is required
  • Must be proficient in written and verbal English language communication skills, computer proficient and possess basic math skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of PGY1 pharmacy residency strongly preferred
  • 3 Years hospital experience or residency is preferred
  • Board certified specialties and/or PGY1/PGY2 residency is strongly preferred
  • ACPE Accredited Sterile Compounding Certification is strongly preferred
  • BLS/ACLS is strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Communicating effectively, building positive professional relationships and role modeling teamwork.
  • Timely and accurate support of medication distribution including medication order verification and oversight of pharmacy technician responsibilities.
  • Provision of clinical pharmacy services for the safe and efficient patient care.
  • Ensuring the accuracy of one's own work as well as maintaining required competencies and other documentation.
  • Consistent support of the department's quality improvement and patient safety standards programs and initiatives is also required.
  • Ongoing professional development and growth.
  • Not only the management of one's own time but shares the responsibility for minimizing pharmaceutical costs (including wastage) and discovering new process efficiencies.
  • Respond to medical emergencies per hospital policy as available.
