About The Position

Texas Health Plano is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist to join their Pharmacy department. This role involves supporting high-acuity service lines such as ICU, stroke, oncology, and neonatal patient populations within a clinically integrated pharmacy practice model. The department fosters a collaborative and approachable culture that values open communication, peer support, and strong working relationships with providers and nursing. Pharmacists are empowered to make evidence-based interventions and drive medication safety initiatives. This is a fast-paced, team-oriented environment requiring flexibility and adaptability, especially in a PRN role supporting varying shifts and operational needs. The advanced clinical environment includes a Level II Trauma Center, Level IV NICU, and a Comprehensive Stroke Center, offering exposure to complex, high-risk patient populations.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree Pharmacy is required Or Other Pharm.D. is required
Other - CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency is required
Must be proficient in written and verbal English language communication skills, computer proficient and possess basic math skills.
PHAR - Pharmacist Upon Hire is required

Nice To Haves

Completion of PGY1 pharmacy residency strongly preferred
3 Years hospital experience or residency is preferred
Board certified specialties and/or PGY1/PGY2 residency is strongly preferred
ACPE Accredited Sterile Compounding Certification is strongly preferred
BLS/ACLS is strongly preferred

Responsibilities

Communicating effectively, building positive professional relationships and role modeling teamwork.
Timely and accurate support of medication distribution including medication order verification and oversight of pharmacy technician responsibilities.
Provision of clinical pharmacy services for the safe and efficient patient care.
Ensuring the accuracy of one's own work as well as maintaining required competencies and other documentation.
Consistent support of the department's quality improvement and patient safety standards programs and initiatives.
Ongoing professional development and growth.
Management of one's own time and sharing responsibility for minimizing pharmaceutical costs (including wastage) and discovering new process efficiencies.
Respond to medical emergencies per hospital policy as available.
