About The Position

HealthPlus Staffing is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist to join a collaborative hospital pharmacy team dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care. This opportunity is ideal for a pharmacist with strong clinical experience who enjoys working directly with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize medication therapy and improve patient outcomes. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited College of Pharmacy (PharmD preferred)
  • Licensed as a Registered Pharmacist in Iowa
  • Minimum of 2–4 years of clinical pharmacy experience in a hospital setting
  • Strong knowledge of hospital pharmacy operations and clinical pharmacy practice
  • Excellent communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams

Nice To Haves

  • PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency preferred
  • Board Certification in Pharmacotherapy (BCPS) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care across a variety of inpatient service lines
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams
  • Participate in centralized and decentralized pharmacy operations
  • Monitor medication therapy and ensure safe, effective, and evidence-based pharmaceutical care
  • Participate in quality improvement, medication safety, and regulatory compliance initiatives
  • Serve as a clinical resource for healthcare providers and pharmacy staff
  • Precept pharmacy students and participate in staff education and professional development
  • Perform comprehensive medication therapy management for hospitalized patients
  • Review medication profiles and identify opportunities to improve patient safety and therapeutic outcomes
  • Provide medication reconciliation, discharge counseling, and patient education
  • Participate in antimicrobial stewardship and other clinical pharmacy initiatives
  • Develop and implement pharmacy-driven quality improvement projects
  • Assist with medication utilization evaluations and formulary management
  • Support specialty medication procurement and dispensing when applicable
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver individualized patient-centered care
  • Contribute to operational excellence while advancing clinical pharmacy practice
