About The Position

The Clinical Pharmacist Informatics Program Administrator is responsible for selection, implementation, and adoption of clinical technology to support optimal clinical effectiveness and efficiency. Working in conjunction with other information technology (IT) staff, the clinical pharmacy informaticist is responsible for documenting, building, testing, and implementing new and existing functionality within the electronic medical record (EMR). This individual should be able to translate user requests and utilize their knowledge of clinical workflows, evidence-based practices, regulatory requirements, departmental policies and procedures to design and optimize build within the EMR. The clinical pharmacy informaticist is responsible for providing clinical input for IT projects including collection of data as well as gathering input from clinical leaders and frontline staff. This role may be required to manage specific aspects of IT projects. Works under the supervision of a departmental director in conjunction with IT leadership. Requirements

Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Pharmacy (B.S. Pharmacy Degree) or Ph.D degree. Must maintain a current US License as a Registered Pharmacist and a current controlled substance license
Minimum 5-years of current experience as a Pharmacist in a clinical setting
A minimum of 2-years leading a project / individuals / or complex, cross-departmental projects or 2-years of Leadership experience required
Must become and maintain Vendor certification in respective application within 6-months of attending first Vendor course
Must have a strong working knowledge of departmental policies, procedures, business operations and workflows with an understanding of how they interrelate to other departments in the organization.
Strong project management skills including the ability to lead meetings, prioritize, resolve conflicts, and maintain issues lists.
Demonstrates highly effective verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrates effectiveness as a group leader and participant.
Demonstrates ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Nice To Haves

Minimum of 5-years’ experience with Vendor software and its operations preferred
Experience installing and maintaining a Pharmacy computer system preferred

Responsibilities

Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members to analyze workflows and processes to continually improve efficiencies in the EMR and third-party vendors
Works effectively with IT staff regarding EMR documentation, building, testing and implementation of new/existing functionality
Utilizes clinical knowledge, evidence-based practices, regulatory requirements and departmental policies and procedures to design and optimize build within the EMR
Identifies barriers to change and accepts and manages ambiguity/complexity.
Leads multidisciplinary groups toward solutions
Obtains end user feedback and incorporates end user requirements into the design of the EMR.
Leads meetings and projects as needed
Listens and responds to questions/concerns of co-workers and other members of the organization.
Develops protocols and procedures and updates them as appropriate in relationship to the EMR or third-party vendors
Participates in training development and delivery, go-live support, testing and clinical IT prioritization.
Troubleshoots problems or questions from end users in coordination with IT
Understands the importance of critical deadlines and plans accordingly to accomplish goals
Supports innovation in EMR design and implementation
