Clinical Pharmacist, Emergency Medicine
About The Position
Methodist Hospital is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist to join their Inpatient team. This role involves working independently with minimal supervision and collaborating with health system and pharmacy staff. The pharmacist will provide essential pharmaceutical services, including verifying orders, dispensing medications, monitoring patient therapies, offering drug information to healthcare providers, and supervising support personnel. Key responsibilities include managing priorities in a dynamic environment, adapting to workload changes, and responding to urgent patient needs, particularly in the emergency center where bedside services will be provided.
Requirements
- Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with a PharmD or BS in Pharmacy
- Current license to practice pharmacy in the State of Minnesota
- Experience in a decentralized capacity or completion of a post-doctoral pharmacy program (e.g., residency or fellowship)) or board certification
Nice To Haves
- Emergency medicine experience
- Experience using Epic
- PGY-2 in critical care or emergency medicine
Responsibilities
- Provide professional pharmaceutical services by verifying orders, dispensing medications and related supplies.
- Monitor patient medication therapies.
- Provide drug information to healthcare providers.
- Oversee the work of direct support personnel.
- Respond to urgent and emergent patient cases.
- Provide bedside services for patients in the emergency center.
