As a Clinical Pharmacist, a caregiver in this role will provide dedicated Emergency Department pharmacy services at Indian River Hospital in a fast-paced, patient-centered clinical environment. Working directly within the Emergency Department, the caregiver will collaborate with pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, physicians, nurses, advanced practice providers and other caregivers to provide timely, evidence-based medication management. Responsibilities include reviewing and verifying medication orders, providing real-time medication recommendations during high-acuity events, participating in code blue and emergency response situations, serving as a clinical pharmacy resource and responding to urgent medication-related questions and consults. The caregiver will also support medication safety initiatives and collaborate with inpatient pharmacy teams to promote continuity of care. This role provides opportunities to practice decentralized emergency medicine pharmacy while also supporting central pharmacy operations and inpatient workflows as needed. A caregiver in this position will work a 7-on, 7-off schedule, with the work week running Wednesday night through Wednesday morning. During the scheduled week, caregivers will work four shifts from 9:30 AM to 8:00 PM and three shifts from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Weekend and holiday coverage are built into the 7-on, 7-off rotation.

Requirements

  • PharmD or Bachelors of Science degree in Pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy.
  • Current State licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh) or eligible for reciprocation in current State within 90 days of hire.
  • For individuals required to administer immunizations, Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross and completion of a Board of Pharmacy approved course in the administration of immunizations or certification obtained within 90 days of hire are required.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of a post-graduate year 1 residency (PGY1), fellowship or relevant post-graduate pharmacy experience preferred.
  • Post-graduate year 2 residency (PGY2) or relevant experience preferred for Clinical Pharmacists hired in a Specialized Pharmacy practice area (i.e. Critical Care, Oncology).
  • Board Certification preferred.

Responsibilities
