Under general supervision, this role facilitates the safe, effective, and economic use of drugs in a fiscally responsible manner. The Clinical Pharmacist reviews prescriptions, obtains clarification as necessary, and regularly consults with medical staff, nursing personnel, and others to coordinate high-quality pharmaceutical services for Hospital patients. This position requires knowledge of current pharmacy practices, clinical pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, adverse drug reactions, and drug interactions. The role involves preparing intravenous admixture solutions, analyzing data, organizing daily activities, and problem-solving. Additionally, the Clinical Pharmacist participates in interviewing and hiring, oversees employee orientation and training, provides performance feedback, and mentors colleagues and students. The role also involves following up on Adverse Drug Reactions, assisting with quality improvement activities, and responding to customer feedback.
