About The Position

This role involves providing pastoral care to patients, their family members, and organizational staff across various Austin facilities. The resident will perform or assist with pastoral visitations, public worship services, and outreach services. A key aspect of the role is assessing and responding to the spiritual and emotional needs of those counseled, including crisis intervention and bereavement. The position also requires active participation in the Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) curriculum, demonstrating a commitment to learning about pastoral care, self-awareness as a minister, and the impact of one's ministry. Accurate documentation of visits and interventions according to healthcare organization standards is also essential.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree required.

Nice To Haves

Master's degree in a Theology, Spirituality or related field preferred.
1 unit of Clinical Pastoral Education accredited by ACPE is preferred.
Ordination or equivalency in faith group is preferred.
3 years of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Participate in Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) curriculum and demonstrate a commitment to learning about the ministry of pastoral care, about oneself as a minister and the ways in which one's ministry affects those served.
Document visits and interventions appropriately according to the standards of the healthcare organization.
