About The Position

St. Louis Behavioral Medicine Institute (SLBMI) is seeking a Clinical Outreach Liason to support access to care to our Intensive Outpatient and Partial Hospitalization Programs through clinically informed community outreach and referral engagement. This role is responsible for the execution of outreach activities with a strong clinical lens, ensuring referral partners are supported in identifying appropriate level-of-care placements. Working within established outreach priorities, the Liaison will serve as a clinical resource in the community, helping bridge gaps between providers and treatment services. This is a field-based, externally focused role and does not include responsibility for internal program operations, staffing, or clinical service delivery. May entail evening and/or weekend hours for events. The ideal candidate is a clinically trained professional who enjoys community engagement and relationship building. They would possess a strong ability to translate clinical knowledge into practical guidance for referral partners (both clinical and non-clinical). Ideally, they would feel comfortable independently working within established outreach direction and priorities, with a high level of organization and follow-through.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in a mental / behavioral health-related field
  • Valid state driver's license
  • 1-3 years of related work experience required
  • Strong understanding of behavioral health diagnoses and levels of care (OP / IOP / PHP / Residential) required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build trust within the provider community required.

Nice To Haves

  • license (LPC, LCSW, LMFT) preferred but not required
  • 3-5 years of related work experience preferred
  • Experience in mental health and/or substance use treatment settings preferred.
  • Experience with CRM or referral tracking systems preferred.
  • Background in assessment, case management, or care coordination preferred.
  • Familiarity working with military populations, veterans, or veteran-serving organizations preferred

Responsibilities

  • Execute assigned outreach plans with a focus on clinically appropriate referral development
  • Build and maintain relationships with referral partners, including therapists, psychiatrists, hospitals, and community providers
  • Serve as a clinical resource to the community by educating partners on levels of care, treatment modalities, and appropriate placement criteria
  • Utilize clinical knowledge to support referral partners in determining when IOP is an appropriate level of care
  • Conduct regular in-person outreach, meetings, and follow-ups to maintain strong community presence
  • Collaborate with Intake and clinical teams to support appropriate and timely referral transitions
  • Communicate relevant clinical updates and program information to referral sources
  • Track outreach activity and referral trends to support consistency and follow-through
  • Administers the management information system and ensures accurate and timely reports are submitted as required. Evaluates data collected and utilizes key reports to plan referral development and marketing activities and to determine the success of these efforts.
  • Plans and executes external marketing efforts through social media, constant contact, and any other platforms utilized by clinic
  • Attends all internal and external meetings and events as required to successfully fulfill duties.
