About The Position

This role implements clinical and operational procedures to ensure efficient, quality patient care. The specialist ensures clinic operations are compliant with internal standards and external regulations, and supports nursing personnel in practice operations. They participate in the development of clinic goals and implement complex changes or new procedures. The role involves assessing clinic processes and operational data, identifying trends, and recommending methods to improve patient access, operational efficiency, and productivity. Additionally, the specialist oversees charge capture, reporting, data entry, and cash collection, advises leadership on billing issues, and refines patient billing and coding practices to ensure compliance with contracts and guidelines. They identify opportunities to maximize revenue capture and develop mechanisms to validate billing and coding. The role also coordinates clinic and provider productivity metrics, applies findings to recommend operational, financial, and quality improvements, and works closely with practice managers and physician practice leads to ensure program activities integrate with practice operations and physician workflows. The specialist leads clinic administrative staff, provides training and performance feedback, and ensures patient-related issues are managed in accordance with HIPAA and patient billing regulations. They provide direction and oversight for purchasing, prepare budget requests, assess clinic resources, and recommend cost reduction strategies. The role leads IT implementations for a clinic, identifies and addresses clinic technology needs, collaborates with IT to resolve issues, and oversees training on IT systems and applications. Finally, the specialist represents the clinic in campus-wide meetings as a subject matter expert on clinic operations, oversees facilities management projects associated with clinic sites (including inspections, renovations, and equipment installation), and ensures capital equipment and space needs are met.
