About The Position

Indiana University Health is seeking individuals who embody excellence, compassion, teamwork, and purpose to join our Perioperative leadership team in the role of Clinical Operations Manager. This role is crucial for advancing our mission and improving health outcomes. The Clinical Operations Manager combines clinical experience and contemporary leadership practices with the IU Health Way to achieve excellent outcomes. They are accountable for translating and achieving strategic priorities and outcomes, including quality and safety improvements, care affordability, great patient experiences, and great team member experiences. This role provides strategic vision and operational planning for assigned units, leading interprofessional teams to create an environment where excellence in patient and organizational outcomes is achieved. The manager is also accountable for advancing nursing practice by advocating for and embedding evidence-based practices and professional nursing standards. The role provides oversight of a unit that is operational and staffed 24x7, including weekends and holidays.

Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor of Nursing (BSN).
  • If bachelor degree not in nursing, must have Master of Nursing (MSN).
  • Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
  • Required Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
  • Previous OR experience.
  • SOP writing experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Nursing or related field preferred.
  • Specialty certification related to nursing practice or leadership is preferred.
  • Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.

Responsibilities

  • Providing strategic vision and operational planning for assigned unit.
  • Leading an interprofessional team to create an environment where the team is empowered to achieve excellence in patient and organizational outcomes.
  • Advancing nursing practice by advocating and consistently embedding evidenced-base practices and professional nursing standards.
  • Providing oversight of unit that is operational and staffed 24 x 7, weekends, and holidays.
  • Rounding on evenings and weekends.
  • Being on call one week out of four.
