About The Position

The Clinical Education Department is responsible for the assessment and preparation of international healthcare professionals to practice in the United States. The department also serves ongoing educational and remediation needs for healthcare professionals at all stages of their employment with Avant. The Clinical Operations Manager is responsible for directing, organizing and supervising the work of an offsite nursing staff, which includes registered nurses (RNs) on long term contract assignments at our client companies located throughout the United States. The Clinical Operations Manager will also provide clinical support to client healthcare facilities as needed in the absence of the Director of Clinical Operations.

Requirements

  • BSN preferred; work experience may substitute for education at the discretion of the VP of Clinical Operations.
  • 5 – 7 years of experience as a Registered Nurse
  • Minimum 2 years of leading people in an acute healthcare setting
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge of nursing practice, applicable rules and regulations and industry standards.
  • Must have excellent organizational skills and be an effective time manager and multi-tasker.
  • High energy, positive, enthusiastic, intelligent, articulate, persuasive
  • Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) certification and ability to obtain and maintain
  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in the State of Florida

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates the performance of clinical staff and manages performance management plans as necessary through effective and ongoing communication.
  • Mentors and coaches clinical staff; listens to concerns and provides counsel.
  • Motivates staff to strive for professional excellence.
  • Provides clinical education in accordance with our established curriculum, as necessary.
  • Communicates effectively with clients to ensure that clinicians are progressing through the orientation and transition period meeting all client expectations.
  • Complies with company policies and procedures.
  • Obtains essential clinical documentation and reporting in accordance with Joint Commission standards.
  • Manages client relationships, ensures that realistic expectations are set in working with international clinicians, and fosters class-leading outcomes, ensuring Avant maintains a superior reputation with each client.
  • Occasional travel to client sites as directed by the Avant executive team. (10%)
