About The Position

Indiana University Health is seeking individuals who embody values of excellence, compassion, teamwork and purpose to join their Emergency Department leadership team in the role of Clinical Operations Manager. The clinical manager of operations combines clinical experience and contemporary leadership practices with the IU Health Way to achieve excellent outcomes. This role is accountable for translating and achieving strategic priorities and outcomes: quality and safety improvements, care affordability, great patient experiences, and great team member experiences. The incumbent will provide strategic vision and operational planning for assigned units, leading an interprofessional team to create an environment where the team is empowered to achieve excellence in patient and organizational outcomes. This role is accountable for advancing nursing practice by advocating and consistently embedding evidenced-base practices and professional nursing standards. Provides oversight of units that are operational and staffed 24 x 7, weekends, and holidays. This is a fully onsite role Monday-Friday day shift at White Memorial Hospital with availability needed to round to evenings and weekends.

Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor of Nursing (BSN). If bachelor degree not in nursing, must have Master of Nursing (MSN).
  • Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
  • Required Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
  • Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Nursing or related field preferred.
  • Specialty certification related to nursing practice or leadership is preferred.
  • Previous emergency department experience is strongly preferred.
