About The Position

Sodexo is seeking a Clinical Nutrition Manager for Howard University Hospital, a Level-1 trauma hospital center which provides top-tier inpatient and outpatient health care services in the Washington DC area. This role involves managing and leading the clinical nutrition program, overseeing dietitians, and fostering a culture of precepting and mentoring dietetic students. The candidate will also drive Nutrition Department Performance Improvement and Quality Management projects and provide nutrition care to various patient units as needed. Requirements

  • Prior acute care experience and demonstrate great clinical knowledge base
  • Proven supervisory or management experience to enhance clinical program growth
  • Excellent communication, leadership and customer service skills
  • Experience with regulatory accreditation, regulatory readiness and review, and establishing and maintaining standards of care
  • Registered Dietitian and Licensure in DC required prior to starting position
  • Master's degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND)
  • For those eligible for the registration exam prior to 1/1/24: Bachelor's degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND)
  • Meets eligibility requirements for Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and will become registered within 120 days of hire.
  • Certification/licensure as required by state(s) of practice.
  • At least 13 months experience supervising and directing people and other resources to achieve specific end results within limited timeframes.
  • 3 years as experienced practitioner able to work unsupervised and provide professional supervision to developing practitioners
