About The Position

Sodexo is seeking a Registered Dietitian for a Clinical Nutrition Manager III position at Bridgeport Hospital in Bridgeport, CT. This 400-bed Level 2 Trauma Center and teaching hospital is part of the Yale New Haven Health System. Bridgeport Hospital also has Connecticut's only Burn center.

Requirements

  • Be a Registered Dietitian with acute care experience and demonstrate a great clinical knowledge base.
  • Have proven supervisory or management experience.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication, leadership and customer service skills.
  • Be experienced with regulatory accreditation and establishing and maintaining standards of care.
  • Have a strong commitment to excellence in all aspects of patient care.
  • Master's degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) or Bachelor's degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) for those eligible for the registration exam prior to 1/1/24.
  • Meets eligibility requirements for Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and will become registered within 120 days of hire. In some states and/or facilities the RD/RDN credentials is required at the time of hire.
  • Certification/licensure as required by state(s) of practice. In some states and/or facilities state certification/licensure is required at the time of hire.
  • 6 years experience of planning, managing and organizing resources within short/medium timeframes within the overall policy framework.
  • 5 years as experienced specialized practitioner able to work unsupervised and provide professional supervision to specialists.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the clinical nutrition program for three sites within the Yale New Haven Medical Center.
  • Supervise a team of 11 Registered Dietitians and 15 diet office staff.
  • Drive Performance Improvement and Quality Management projects.
  • Oversee rollout of department programs and initiatives.
  • Provide training and education to the food service staff, as well as interdisciplinary healthcare professionals.
  • Be the primary liaison with medical and nursing staff and represent the department on hospital wide committees.
  • Serve in a leadership role on the Food and Nutrition Services team and assist in food service management as needed.
