About The Position

Under the direction and supervision of the Director of Nursing, performs various administrative duties and oversees the overall operation of clinical services in the Eagle Pass Clinic sites. This role is responsible for ensuring consistency in practice and policy across clinic sites and works closely with other nursing coordinators to ensure coordination throughout all clinics. The position maintains extensive contact with the QI/QA Director and Compliance Director. Responsible for the supervision of all nursing personnel (excluding PAs and APNs), with assistance from Charge Nurses. The role also assists in providing health education and disease prevention services, develops and updates nursing protocols and related policies, and provides leadership for the nursing department's Quality Improvement/Quality Assurance Process. May be required to function as a Charge Nurse and provide direct patient care. Must demonstrate knowledge and skills for age-appropriate patient care, including infant, adolescent, and geriatric patients. EHR proficiency is required. The position is responsible for compliance with State/Federal regulations, PCHM standards, DSHS regulations, HRSA, and Compliance Standards.

Requirements

  • Licensed Vocational Nurse for the State of Texas.
  • Three or more years experience as a Licensed Vocational Nurse.
  • EHR proficient.

  • Knowledgeable in the various mandated regulations impacting the delivery of health care services such as DSHS, PCHM and other.

Responsibilities

  • Performs various administrative duties and oversees the overall operation of clinical services in the Eagle Pass Clinic sites.
  • Ensures consistency in practice and policy across clinic sites.
  • Works closely with the Clinical Nursing Coordinator in Del Rio and the Charge Nurse in Brackettville to ensure consistency and coordination in policies and practices throughout all clinics.
  • Maintains extensive contact with the QI/QA Director and Compliance Director.
  • Supervises all nursing personnel with the exception of PA’s and APN’s, with assistance and input from the Charge Nurses.
  • Assists and participates in the provision of health education and disease prevention services in the community.
  • Responsible for the development and update of nursing protocols as well as clinically related policies and procedures.
  • Provides leadership for the nursing department in regards to the Quality Improvement/ Quality Assurance Process.
  • May be required to function as a Charge Nurse and provide direct patient care as needed.
  • Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served, including knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span.
  • Identifies and categorizes each patient’s age-specific grouping of needs, such as those for infant, adolescent, or geriatric patients.
  • Ensures compliance with other requirements affecting the Medical Center, such as State/Federal regulations, PCHM standards, DSHS regulations, HRSA, and Compliance Standards.
