About The Position
Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center is seeking a Clinical Nurse to join its Radiology team and provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to oncology patients and their families. The role supports patients undergoing radiological examinations and targeted radionuclide therapy in a healing and innovative environment. The nurse collaborates with the radiology theranostic team and other multidisciplinary colleagues to provide continuity of care through treatment and follow-up. The schedule is three 12-hour shifts, flexed between 7:00 a.m. and 12:00 a.m., Monday through Friday. Weekend and holiday rotation requirements may be implemented in the future based on departmental needs. The position is located at MSK’s Main Campus, 1275 York Avenue, and reports to the Nurse Leader.
Requirements
- New York State RN license.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Minimum of 1.5 years of related clinical experience.
- Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BCLS).
- Ability to provide evidence-based nursing care to oncology patients and families.
Nice To Haves
- 1.5–2 years of oncology experience.
- Radiology experience.
- IV skills.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
- National certification.
Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with other members of the radiology theranostic team.
- Lead a caseload of patients undergoing radiological examinations and targeted radionuclide therapy.
- Provide clinical support to staff members.
- Acquire IV access and monitor patients during therapeutic radioisotope administration.
- Perform patient assessments and provide patient and family education and symptom management.
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide continuity of care through treatment and follow-up.
- Make timely decisions that maintain high standards of nursing care.
- Build strong customer relationships and deliver customer-centric solutions.
- Communicate effectively with different audiences.
