The Clinical Nurse Supervisor - Cardiology provides support in the delivery of quality clinical care. This role works closely with the healthcare team and physician to ensure triage, telephone assessments, home therapies, and patient visits are consistent with established guidelines. The supervisor takes a lead role in assisting the clinical team to meet/exceed CI goals, assists physicians and associates in managing patient registries, and ensures staff adherence to timely and accurate documentation. They support a safe environment for patients and associates by monitoring staff compliance with standards, policies, procedures, and HIPAA. The supervisor ensures associates are up-to-date with safety training and certifications, acts as a role model for the Culture of Safety, and works with the manager to resolve patient safety events. They promote and educate staff on the reporting system for events and near misses, and work with the manager to complete ACAs and RCAs. The role leads site clinical integration activities, demonstrates independent problem-solving, critical decision-making, and knows when to obtain additional resources. They hold clinical staff accountable to rooming standards and ensure timely management of EMR tasks, overdue orders, test result follow-up, and other patient follow-up. The supervisor collaborates with the manager/director and physician leadership to maintain a patient-centered environment, evaluates service levels and operational procedures, and engages staff in issue resolution. They monitor data, review with staff and physicians, and jointly develop improvement plans to meet patient satisfaction targets. The supervisor holds self and others accountable to AMG Service Standards, Behaviors of Excellence, AIDET, and MVP. They participate in activities to evaluate and improve processes, conduct frequent assessments of patient flow, and take steps to reduce wait times. The role is responsible for conveying a professional image, following through on patient complaints, practicing Service Recovery, and fostering a pleasant and professional environment. They ensure adequate clinical staffing by developing schedules and assignments, assist in coordinating managed care issues and nursing updates, and actively round on patients, associates, and physicians. The supervisor collaborates with the practice manager on Human Resource functions, provides leadership to create a motivating environment, conducts regular staff meetings and daily huddles, and documents meetings using the Stoplight Report. They conduct performance reviews on time, demonstrate effective time management, problem-solving, collaboration, and conflict resolution skills, and keep the manager informed of key events. The supervisor provides ongoing performance feedback through coaching and mentoring, orients and trains new associates, documents training, and seeks opportunities for further education. They assure associates maintain certification and required continuing education units (CEUs). The role supports initiatives that enhance practice growth and patient retention, promotes same-day access, and is engaged in volume visit targets. They maintain an effective process for inventory control and medication supply utilization, proactively manage staff schedules to minimize overtime, and work to achieve revenue and cost targets. The supervisor maximizes team efficiency, participates in activities that foster practice growth, and assists in creating and maintaining an operationally efficient and physician/provider friendly work environment. They provide support to the onboarding of new physicians/providers, round with physicians/providers daily, solicit feedback on staff performance, and engage physicians/providers in improving processes, workflow, and EMR concerns. The supervisor assists physicians/providers on patient care and safety issues, reviews physician/provider satisfaction results, and collaborates to execute improvement plans. Additionally, they fulfill other job-related duties as directed, keep abreast of current clinical standards, participate in activities to enhance professional growth, maintain licensure and CEUs, and perform clinical duties as needed.
