About The Position

Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center is hiring a per-diem Clinical Nurse Specialist to provide clinical leadership in oncology nursing practice. The role supports patients with cancer and the nursing staff who care for them, promoting compassionate, evidence-based care in a healing and innovative environment.

The Clinical Nurse Specialist provides expertise in evidence-based practice, education, consultation, and research. The role coordinates implementation of nursing practice standards across sites, collaborates with nursing leaders and multidisciplinary teams to foster a patient-centered environment, and supports Relationship Based Care. The position also advances MSK oncology nursing practice through abstracts, presentations, and dissemination of evidence-based research findings.

This position is based at MSK’s Main Campus at 1275 York Avenue. It is per diem, scheduled as needed for 12-hour shifts from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., and reports to the Associate Director, Nursing.

Requirements

• Current New York RN license with CNS qualification.
• Master’s degree in Nursing.
• National certification.
• At least 3 years of related acute care or critical nursing care experience.
• Self-direction and strong interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in an advanced nursing role is strongly preferred.
• Oncology experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership in evidence-based oncology nursing practice, education, consultation, and research.
• Support MSK patients with cancer diagnoses and the nursing staff who care for them.
• Coordinate implementation of practice standards with colleagues across sites.
• Demonstrate positive quality outcomes related to nurse-sensitive indicators and patient and staff satisfaction.
• Promote a patient-centered environment through collaboration with nursing leaders and multidisciplinary teams.
• Support and cultivate Relationship Based Care in all aspects of care delivery.
• Disseminate MSK oncology nursing practice standards and outcomes through abstract submission, podium presentations, and evidence-based research findings.
