Under the general direction of the Clinical Nurse Supervisor in consultation with the Ambulatory Operations Director (AOD), utilizing the nursing process to provide appropriate and culturally sensitive care to UIHS clients. This role involves assisting in the day-to-day operations of the clinic, providing nursing services, administering medications and immunizations, educating clients on health matters, and utilizing nursing skills in accordance with UIHS policies and procedures. The nurse will perform triage assessments, intervene during adverse events, obtain vital signs, manage IVs, prepare equipment for procedures, and support Medical Assistants. Responsibilities also include maintaining equipment, fostering positive relationships, performing office functions, participating in case management, providing input on medical staff evaluation, attending staff meetings, assisting with reports and accreditation preparation, and maintaining a professional work environment. A commitment to learning about American Indian culture and delivering culturally responsive services is essential.
