About The Position

The Clinical Nurse Resident performs routine assignments and develops competence through structured work assignments. The role is accountable for assessing, coordinating, delivering, and evaluating nursing care, including direct patient care, patient and family education, and transitions of care. The nurse delivers holistic, individualized care and develops and coordinates interdisciplinary plans that address psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and lifestyle factors. The position fosters collaborative relationships with patients, families and support groups, physicians, and other healthcare providers through timely, effective communication. It follows hospital policies, industry standards, best practices, applicable laws and regulations, and codes to support a high-quality, reliable patient experience, while pursuing continued growth in professional nursing practice. The position is with MMC-Memorial Medical Center. The department-specific certifications listed in the posting apply where relevant to the assigned department and patient population. Employees may handle hazardous drugs as part of their work and must do so in accordance with applicable NIOSH identification and USP 800 guidelines.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing before the start date.
Registered Nurse (RN) license for the state where care is provided before the start date.
Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification.
Demonstrated general knowledge and competence in nursing theories, concepts, and practices; medical terminology; anatomy; and physiology.
Working knowledge of the healthcare industry, safety precaution policies, patient-care and privacy best practices, and changes in local, state, and federal regulations.
Written and verbal communication skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences, including non-medical people.
Basic knowledge of computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Outlook.
Ability to prioritize assignments and work within standardized policies, procedures, and scientific methods to meet objectives and deadlines.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, including managing multiple tasks in an environment with interruptions.
Ability to identify, evaluate, and resolve standard problems by selecting appropriate solutions from established options.
Ability to build collaborative relationships with peers and other healthcare providers to achieve departmental and organizational objectives.

Nice To Haves

Electronic Health Record (EHR) experience; EPIC is preferred.
