The Experienced Clinical Nurse at MD Anderson Cancer Center manages patient outcomes by providing, coordinating and supporting clinical aspects of direct patient care across the continuum of care. They impact quality of patient care, patient outcomes and use of resources in a designated area in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. The G12E Palliative unit is an 18-bed unit within the medical oncology cohort. Expert palliative care is provided to patients with recurrent and/or advanced cancer with complex physical, psychological, or spiritual concerns. Although the patients seen in the unit are in varying stages of their illness, all seek restoration to maximum symptom control, function, and comfort.
