About The Position

Responsible for organizing and managing the patient care delivery and team members on a specific patient care unit for the total numbers of hours that the unit is operational. The clinical coordinator is responsible for leading daily operations of a specific unit including the human, physical environment, supplies, resources, and services to ensure efficient quality patient experience and care in collaboration with the Director. Provides any special skills/knowledge base related to the patient mix of the unit/special functions of the unit. Supports Augusta Health mission and philosophy. Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his/her assigned unit or within his/her department including knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span. 80% managerial / 20% clinical (may vary depending on span of control & number of CC/unit managers).

Requirements

Current and valid Registered nurse license in the Commonwealth of Virginia or from a state that is part of a Compact agreement with Virginia.
Bachelors Degree in Nursing.
Minimum of one year experience in an acute inpatient setting.
Minimum of three years’ experience in specialty units.
Ability to work under stressful and changing situations.
Leadership competencies as defined by the organization.
Annual Augusta Health educational requirements per hospital certifications and defined unit competencies.
BLS.
ACLS/PALS if required for team members in specific unit.

Nice To Haves

Masters Degree in Nursing.

Adhering to Standards of Practice for respective areas, State Nurse Practice Act, Nursing Mission & Strategic plan, Pathways to Excellence Standards, and Clinical Excellence in respective area.
Other duties as assigned.
