About The Position

Sentara Leigh Hospital is hiring a Clinical Nurse Manager for their Cardiac Telemetry Unit. This is a full-time position (40 hours/week). The Clinical Nurse Manager is responsible for the daily operations of clinical areas, supervising patient care staff, ensuring patient safety and quality outcomes, and fostering an excellent patient/family experience. They are involved in interviewing, hiring, developing, and retaining staff to build a reliable team. The role requires effective communication and interpersonal skills to achieve unit and corporate goals. The manager also assists with budget development and monitoring, coordinates purchasing and payroll, and serves as a clinical resource. The 24-bed Medicine Cardiac Unit features all rooms with telemetry and eHospital monitoring, serving patient populations including oncology, stroke, diabetes, GI, inpatient hospice, and general medical.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Nursing- BSN (Required) or MSN (Preferred)
  • Registered nursing License (Required)
  • BLS required within 90 days of hire
  • 3 years RN experience
  • 1 year nursing leadership (2 years experience in a support leadership RN position, i.e. Unit Coordinator, Team Lead, or other like position may be accepted in lieu of 1 year formal management experience.)
