About The Position

The Converse Home, a nonprofit assisted living community in Burlington, Vermont, is seeking an experienced and passionate Clinical Nurse Leader / Staff Educator (RN) to join their nursing team. This role involves mentoring staff, leading education, and improving the quality of care. Working alongside the Director of Nursing, the successful candidate will help develop a confident, compassionate nursing team while supporting clinical excellence and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • Current Vermont Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of nursing experience in assisted living, long-term care, memory care, or a similar healthcare setting.
  • Strong assessment, critical thinking, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Vermont assisted living regulations and survey readiness.
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and electronic medication administration systems.
  • A collaborative leader who enjoys teaching, coaching, and helping others succeed.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in staff education, mentoring, nursing leadership, or clinical supervision preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the onboarding, orientation, and development of ongoing education of nurses, LNAs, Resident Care Assistants (RCAs), and Med Passers. Including monthly in-service training and biannual nursing skills fairs.
  • Serve as a clinical mentor and resource for nursing staff, providing coaching, support, and hands-on education.
  • Conduct medication administration competency evaluations and clinical skills check-offs.
  • Ensure nursing documentation, medication records, and clinical practices remain survey-ready and compliant with Vermont assisted living regulations.
  • Audit clinical documentation, MARs, TARs, and resident records while providing constructive feedback and education.
  • Partner with the Director of Nursing to enhance resident care, service planning, and clinical quality.
  • Support resident assessments, care planning, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule and help provide clinical leadership across all shifts.
