About The Position

At NorthBay Health, the Clinical Nurse (RN) - Hemodialysis is responsible, accountable, and has the authority to deliver safe, effective, quality, excellent nursing care according to the philosophy and goals/objectives of the Department of Nursing. The RN, utilizing Jean Watson’s Theory of Caring Relationship Based Care, and NorthBay’s professional nursing practice model, assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care for all patients assigned to his/her care. The RN makes determinations regarding the progress of the patient toward goals and utilizes a therapeutic professional relationship with the patient/family and interdisciplinary team to facilitate the promotion, maintenance, and restoration of health. Care is provided according to the specific physiologic, developmental, and psychosocial needs of the patient. Supports the mission, vision, values, and expectation of excellence of the organization.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional registered nursing.
  • BSN required by January 1, 2020, unless grandfathered as outlined in March 2014 letter.
  • Valid and current RN license by the State of California.
  • Current AHA or AHA equivalent BLS.
  • Minimum six month’s acute care experience required.
  • Demonstrates competence including but not limited to: hemodialysis, sustained low-efficiency dialysis (SLED), peritoneal dialysis, dialysis access cannulation, and patient assessment.
  • Proficient written, verbal, and electronic communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Organization Membership preferred
  • One-year acute care experience preferred.
  • Five years dialysis experience preferred.
