As a Nurse Educator in the Oncology Franchise, you will leverage your clinical expertise to provide on-label education to oncology accounts. This education will cover disease states, product knowledge, and adverse event management related to Gilead products, aiming to support appropriate patient management strategies and positive patient outcomes. This includes providing non-misleading information of general application, such as: Product Mechanism of Action (MOA) Clinical trial data Dosing guidelines for on-label uses of Gilead products Administration guidelines for on-label uses of Gilead products Education regarding the safety and efficacy of Gilead products Education regarding disease state and adverse event management

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and Six Years’ Experience and Active RN
  • OR
  • Masters' Degree and Four Years’ Experience and Active RN
  • Current RN License in good standing within territory applied for
  • A valid driver's license is required

Nice To Haves

  • Oncology Nurse Certification (OCN)
  • 3 years clinical hematology/oncology experience
  • 5 years pharmaceutical industry experience including Oncology Clinical Nurse Educator experience and/or recent experience as an oncology/hematology nurse
  • Strong oral, written, and virtual communication skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work with autonomy and independently with discretion and judgment without regular direct supervision
  • Excellent computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Office, Excel, Power Point)
  • Ability to engage in travel as may be reasonably required, including regular travel within the assigned area (and, to the extent applicable, satisfaction of any requirements associated with such travel) including overnights and occasional weekend travel
  • Satisfaction of any onsite visitation requirements of healthcare facilities within an assigned area, if applicable (which may include but not be limited to, by way of example, vaccinations, drug and background screenings, and any other requirements that certain healthcare facilities may adopt).

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-label education to non-physician healthcare providers (e.g., Nurse Practitioners) and healthcare professionals (e.g., Nurses, pharmacists) to support patient treatment and the safe and effective use of Gilead products.
  • Apply Oncology Nurse Educator role-specific knowledge to engage in clinical discussions about product and disease state content, terminology, and concepts with customers.
  • Deliver education in an accurate, succinct, and impactful manner that engages the audience and meets the needs of the individual account, always adhering to the guidelines of the Oncology Nurse Educator role.
  • Demonstrate deep insight into customer, geographical, and healthcare industry challenges.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of various customer segments (e.g., different nursing specialties) and environments (e.g., Community Oncology, Academic Institutions).
  • Build credibility and trust during customer interactions by understanding individual operational practices, decision-making processes, standards of care, priorities, potential changes in needs, and patient management challenges.
  • Consider the patient journey and account educational needs, utilizing approved Gilead resources to address these needs.
  • Develop meaningful educational account plans with clear objectives, actions, responsibilities, timelines, and resource allocation.
  • Demonstrate commitment to the One Oncology matrix process by appropriately engaging cross-functional team members in a highly integrated way, sharing perspectives and linking customer needs and insights.
  • Develop and execute a routing plan to maximize time and impact in the field.
  • Utilize strong presentation skills with the ability to tailor presentations to different sized audiences and levels of clinical expertise.
  • Maintain the highest level of professional standards in all interactions with internal colleagues, external customers, and other business contacts, always within the expectations of the Oncology Nurse Educator role.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment regarding the utilization of time and financial resources, such as travel and expenses.
  • Complete all necessary administrative tasks promptly (e.g., updating customer database, expenses, etc.).
