About The Position

Under the direction of the Manager, the Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) is responsible for ensuring all work is in alignment with the organization's missions, goals, values, and strategic plans to promote high-quality and safe client care. This is accomplished by assisting in establishing and maintaining best practice; assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating unit orientation, clinical training and other educational programming; assessing learning needs; acting as a clinical resource; participating in committee work as assigned; participating in continuous improvement activities; developing and maintaining client and staff resources. The CNE will function as a member of the interprofessional clinical team to promote effective delivery of client care in the Saskatchewan Health Authority, including direction and regular communication from the clinical area manager(s). The CNE is a self-directed practitioner with strong communication skills, who works in collaboration with interdisciplinary members to promote quality client and family centered care and culture competence. The CNE is an experienced practitioner with expert clinical knowledge and skills. The CNE is an educator, clinical leader, change agent, facilitator and consultant.

Requirements

  • Experience in program/resource development
  • Three (3) years experience in the specific clinical area
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
  • Basic Life Support Instructor Certificate (BLS)
  • Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS)
  • Basic - Computer skills
  • Registered/eligible with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS)
