About The Position

Cedars-Sinai is seeking a Clinical LIS Applications Analyst to join their team. This role provides operational and application build and maintenance for Laboratory Information Systems (LIS), including middleware and ancillary applications like HLA, point of care (POC), and blood gas systems. The analyst will support the implementation and integration of lab applications, assist with lab-specific server and database maintenance, interface and network troubleshooting, and system design. They will perform modifications to existing applications, analyze requests, and complete projects independently under the guidance of senior analysts and the Team Lead. Requirements

  • Operational knowledge of the clinical laboratories.
  • Experience with LIS/application build and maintenance.
  • Experience supporting laboratory middleware and ancillary applications (e.g., HLA, point of care, blood gas systems).
  • Experience supporting lab-specific server and database maintenance.
  • Experience with interface and network troubleshooting.
  • Experience with system design.
  • Ability to perform modifications to existing applications.
  • Ability to analyze requests and complete assignments/projects independently.
  • Ability to translate requirements/concepts into system specifications and configuration requirements.
  • Ability to interact with operational end-users, EIS, system, and support vendors.
  • Experience with research and documentation of project requirements, test plans, testing, and validation.
  • Ability to provide training to team members.
  • Ability to update knowledge base articles and policies/procedures.
  • Willingness to provide on-call support during off hours.

  • Experience with AWS server maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in the support, maintenance, build, testing, and upgrades of clinical laboratory information systems (LIS), ancillary laboratory applications, middleware, and interfaces.
  • Provides support and maintenance of laboratory applications including: Servers (including AWS) and certificates, Databases, Network configurations, Interfaces, Users.
  • Possess operational knowledge of the clinical laboratories.
  • Participates in optimization of laboratory operational workflow processes with end-users/business owners.
  • Performs analysis, build, testing, validation, documentation, and implementation of assignments/projects.
  • Translate requirements/concepts into system specifications and configuration requirements.
  • Interacts with operational end-users, EIS, system, and support vendors as needed.
  • Ensures the research and documentation of project requirements, test plans, testing, and validation is completed.
  • Provides training to team members as needed based on testing/troubleshooting documentation as well as updates knowledge base articles and policies/procedures.
  • Provides on-call support during off hours.
