About The Position

The Clinical Applications Analyst I is responsible for supporting clinical information systems and software applications used by staff providing patient care. These applications include the Electronic Health Record (EHR) software, its related systems, and other applications used by clinical and support staff. The Clinical Applications Analyst I will provide educational and technical support by answering user questions, troubleshooting problems, identifying system issues, and testing. They will solve issues directly and by contacting vendors through their support channels. This role will leverage fellow team members for more difficult issues and escalate them appropriately. As new project and application features are implemented, this role will help test and validate the systems. They will follow the facility change control process. A basic knowledge of clinical processes and principles of quality/safety improvement is needed. Quality assurance (QA) through rounding with a variety of departments on a regular basis is an important element of the role. They pay attention to patient safety aspects of clinical systems and workflows. Assists with data collection and documentation of the current state processes. Assists in assuring clinical systems are in compliance with hospital policy, regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and legal mandates.

Requirements

  • 2 years of clinical informatics experience in a healthcare setting providing acute and/or non-acute care required.
  • Basic knowledge regarding clinical processes and principles of quality/safety improvement.
  • Registration and current, unencumbered LPN, PTA, OTA, Rad Tech, MLT, RN, RT, PT, OT, SLP or RPh license in the state of Oklahoma.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field is preferred.
  • Informatics or IT experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with supporting and testing clinical information systems.
  • Provides system expertise and end user support and education regarding clinical systems – including end user training.
  • Work with the information technology team and external vendors to troubleshoot problems in clinical systems.
  • Performs work related to patient safety and quality improvement including rounding.
  • Other duties as assigned.
