About The Position

Per-Diem Clinical Liaison (RN / RRT) for Select Specialty Hospital Critical Illness Recovery Hospital (LTACH). In this role, you will advocate for referred patients during the pre-admission process by collaborating with clinical teams to assess patient needs. You will serve as a resource for healthcare professionals by fostering relationships within medical facilities. With clinical expertise and problem-solving skills, you’ll also coordinate care plans with physicians and families. Additionally, you will facilitate patient transfers and address barriers to accessing specialized post-ICU care. Per-diem Clinical Liaisons cover full-time staff who are out on PTO, maternity leave, and other leaves of absence. This is an excellent opportunity for a clinician who has another Per-diem job with a flexible schedule. You will gain first-hand experience in hospital account management, third-party reimbursement, and transitional care for critically ill patients.

Requirements

  • Current and valid state licensure or eligibility for state licensure as a Registered Nurse or Respiratory Therapist.
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency.
  • Must exercise sound judgment in handling the professional/confidential nature of healthcare sales.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of related experience working in a clinical healthcare setting or previous experience working in a clinical liaison role are preferred.
  • Demonstrated competency with the preadmission process, including assessments and relationship building in a rehabilitation setting or in another post-acute care setting, is preferred.
  • Proven track record in sales and marketing with at least one year of experience in a related position preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work with physicians, discharge planners, and patients' families to plan the best continuum of care after an ICU or post-surgical stay by utilizing your strong clinical background, payer knowledge, and problem-solving skills.
  • Perform clinical assessments of referred patients, then counsel with patients' families to assist them in making the best care decisions for their loved one.
  • Partner with hospital case managers and physicians to create a smooth pre-admission and transfer process through removing payer-related and operational barriers for patients getting into our highly effective level of care.
  • Serve as a resource for healthcare professionals by fostering relationships within medical facilities.
  • Coordinate care plans with physicians and families.
  • Facilitate patient transfers and address barriers to accessing specialized post-ICU care.
