About The Position
The Clinical Laboratory Assistant – PRN position at Texas Health Denton is responsible for performing procedures in other areas of the Laboratory as required by the hospital entity. This role involves specimen collection, patient identification, and labeling according to laboratory procedures and age-specific guidelines. The assistant will also report and evaluate test results and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure timely patient care.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency is required. CLIAFE
Nice To Haves
- Six (6) months experience as a phlebotomist or completion of a one semester course in phlebotomy is highly preferred.
- PBT(ASCP) - Phlebotomy Technician is preferred upon hire.
- Customer Service experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Follows laboratory procedure for specimen collection, patient identification and labeling as appropriate for the age of the patient
- Performs procedures in other areas of the Laboratory as required by hospital entity
- Reports and evaluates test results
- Helps other hospital and laboratory coworkers to provide timely patient care
