About The Position

The Clinical Laboratory Assistant is responsible for following laboratory procedures for specimen collection, patient identification, and labeling as appropriate for the age of the patient. This role also involves following established laboratory test procedures, demonstrating competence in age-appropriate patient treatment, and performing specimen processing protocols. The assistant will participate in the orientation and training of students, volunteers, and new employees, ensure quality control guidelines are followed, and adhere to HIPAA guidelines. Requirements

H.S. Diploma or Equivalent is required
Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency is required
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to function in a fast-paced environment
Strong critical thinking, problem solving and organizational skills
Proficient in basic computer skills

Nice To Haves

6 Months experience as a phlebotomist or completion of a one semester course in phlebotomy is preferred
PBT(ASCP) - Phlebotomy Technician Upon Hire is preferred
Venipuncture skills with all age groups
