About The Position

Texas Health Flower Mound is seeking a passionate Clinical Laboratory Assistant to join their Laboratory Department. This PRN position offers varied hours, with a preference for Monday through Friday availability during day and evening shifts. Requirements

  • H.S. Diploma or Equivalent is required
  • CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency is required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in basic computer skills.

Nice To Haves

  • 6 Months experience as a phlebotomist or completion of a one semester course in phlebotomy is preferred
  • PBT(ASCP) - Phlebotomy Technician Upon Hire is preferred
  • Venipuncture skills with all age groups.

Responsibilities

  • For those entities performing phlebotomy; employee follows laboratory procedure for specimen collection, patient identification and labeling as appropriate for the age of the patient
  • Follows established laboratory test procedures
  • Patient Treatment: Demonstrates competence in the performance of age appropriate patient treatment and individualizes care based on age specific criteria
  • Demonstrates ability to perform specimen processing protocols
  • Participates in orientation and training of students, volunteers, new employees, and observers
  • Quality control guidelines are followed
  • Follows HIPAA guidelines
