This role is responsible for collecting and processing patient blood and non-blood specimens accurately and efficiently. The assistant will also perform patient registration, provide phone support, maintain laboratory information systems, and train new team members. Duties include receiving lab orders, preparing documentation, performing routine laboratory tests, maintaining specimen integrity, and ensuring a clean and organized work environment. The position requires adherence to sterile techniques, handling of biological fluids, and performing minor laboratory procedures under minimal supervision. Phlebotomy services will be provided through venous and capillary puncture, adhering to age-specific considerations. The role also involves receiving and processing urine specimens, preparing specimens for various tests, managing supply inventory, and reporting test results to clinical staff. Compliance with all safety, cleanliness, and infection control policies, including OSHA regulations and the use of PPE, is mandatory.
