The Clinical Laboratory Assistant performs a variety of routine laboratory tests and procedures under minimal supervision. This role involves specimen collection, preparation, processing, and registration of patients. The assistant is responsible for maintaining equipment, ensuring a clean work area, stocking supplies, and adhering to safety and infection control protocols. They will handle blood and body fluids, work with infectious patients, and perform minor laboratory procedures in areas such as chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, and immunology. Additionally, the assistant will perform phlebotomy, receive and collect urine specimens, and report test results to clinical staff.
