About The Position

The Clinical Laboratory Assistant – PRN position at Texas Health Denton is responsible for performing specimen collection, patient identification, and labeling according to laboratory procedures, ensuring accuracy for the age of the patient. This role also involves performing procedures in other areas of the Laboratory as needed, reporting and evaluating test results, and collaborating with hospital and laboratory coworkers to ensure timely patient care. The position is part of a supportive, team environment with opportunities for growth, contributing to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency is required. CLIAFE

Nice To Haves

Six (6) months experience as a phlebotomist or completion of a one semester course in phlebotomy is highly preferred.
PBT(ASCP) - Phlebotomy Technician is preferred upon hire.
Customer Service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Follows laboratory procedure for specimen collection, patient identification and labeling as appropriate for the age of the patient
Performs procedures in other areas of the Laboratory as required by hospital entity
Reports and evaluates test results
Helps other hospital and laboratory coworkers to provide timely patient care
