About The Position

This position is for an entry-level Clinical Laboratory Assistant I (CLA I) at Arkansas Children's Pediatrics Little Rock Clinic (Primary Care). The work shift is Monday-Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Phlebotomy work experience is strongly preferred. The role involves collecting blood and urine specimens, processing and aliquoting laboratory specimens, and transporting them to the appropriate laboratory areas. The assistant will also manage consumable material restocking and assist hospital personnel with specimen collection procedures, performing both inpatient and outpatient phlebotomy. Nice To Haves

• Phlebotomy work experience strongly preferred
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent
• Phlebotomy Technician (PBT) - American Allied Health

Responsibilities

• Collects blood and urine specimens, including instructions, education, handling, packing, storage, and shipping of specimens to local, nationwide, and international referral laboratories for testing and troubleshooting.
• Maintains clean, well-stocked outpatient phlebotomy draw room, phlebotomy supply tray, other supplies and maintenance.
• Provides aliquot procedures, central storage specimens and reagent retrieval procedures.
• Provides clerical and call center duties including staffing of the call center, filing, document quality control and collection of surveillance data.
• Educates and trains family and hospital personnel.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Manages consumable material restocking.
• Assists hospital personnel in specimen collection procedures.
• Performs both inpatient and outpatient phlebotomy procedures.
