About The Position

The County of Riverside's Information Services Unit at Riverside University Health System's Medical Center seeks a Clinical Integration Analyst to join our team in Moreno Valley. This position will be responsible for supporting healthcare quality incentive payment programs and ensuring timely and accurate performance reporting. The role involves supporting managed care performance measurement for BOM measures and QIP reporting processes as well as collaborating with clinical, operational, IT, and external payer/vendor partners. Additional duties include identifying data integrity issues, performance opportunities, and reporting variances. The position will also involve performing data validation and using analytical tools (e.g., SQL) to ensure reporting accuracy. Knowledge of managed care performance measures, quality reporting methodologies, SQL, data validation, and healthcare operational workflows is essential to this position. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience working with healthcare claims, encounter, EHR, supplemental, and/or HEDIS-related data and strong analytical skills to identify data integrity issues, performance opportunities, and reporting variances. Candidates should possess strong critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with clinical, operational, IT, and external payer/vendor partners.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree, preferably with a major in nursing, business or healthcare administration, computer science, communications, industrial engineering, natural sciences, or other healthcare related field to the assignment.
  • Four years in a hospital or healthcare setting that included one year of supporting clinical information or Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and applications.
  • (Additional qualifying experience related to the support of clinical information or EHR systems and applications may substitute for the required education on the basis of one year of full-time experience equaling 30 semester or 45 quarter units of the required education.)

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for RUHS' integrated clinical information system operations; assist in the coordination of RUHS information system operations and activities in support of Research activities at Comparative Effectiveness and Clinical Outcomes Research Center (CECORC)
  • Translate clinician requirements, in partnership with multi-disciplinary teams, into specifications for clinical information systems to conduct Quality Research
  • Assist in the design, acquisition, and implementation of applicable clinical/healthcare informatics, including software validation and installation, clinical content development, user acceptance testing, business process re-engineering, training, and go-live implementation support
  • Assist the Clinical Integration Supervisor in coordinating, implementing, and conducting education and training to end-users of RUHS integrated clinical information systems and applications; develop and organize training curricula, schedules, and training materials.
  • Facilitate effective communication with user groups and assist with go-live readiness to ensure smooth implementation of new functional elements, applications, and major releases of clinical information systems; interface with researchers related to the development implementation and review of the RUHS clinical information systems and procedures aiming to create a mechanism for automation data abstraction from the EMR (EPIC) in support of the research projects.
  • Assist in monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness and efficiency of the integrated clinical information systems, including but not limited to EPIC, Behavioral Health EMR, and other clinical systems
  • Support and coordinate software applications for research operations, including but not limited to data abstraction from clinical data repository and provide technical assistance and support to end-users.
  • Create/modify scripts using Transact Structured Query Language (T-SQL)
  • Analyze electronic medical record (EPIC) data structures using Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) and EPIC Data Dictionary.
  • Intake data requests and work closely with requestors to understand/complete the project/task.
  • Work closely with report requestors/Informatics credential trainers to understand electronic medical record (EPIC) workflows and business rules.
  • Create/Modify Microsoft Power BI datasets/reports.
  • Troubleshoot/fine-tune T-SQL scripts for efficiency and to optimize execution time.
  • To support end-users in using EPIC reporting workbench
  • To support Researchers in the use of cosmos
