The Clinical Instructor and Coordinator of Clinical Experiences is responsible for ensuring that the secondary English Teacher Education program's commitment to socially just English Language Arts instruction is modeled and supported in all clinical experiences. This includes providing instruction within the English Education sequence, which may involve teaching introductory English Education and methods coursework, supervising student teachers, and co-facilitating the student teaching seminar. The Coordinator is also tasked with seeking, building, and sustaining clinical relationships, visiting field sites, creating and maintaining clinical program databases, and coordinating and supporting clinical mentors and student teaching supervisors/field instructors, including their professional learning. The role involves liaising with program faculty and staff to align clinical work with course and licensure requirements, working with College of Education placement personnel, monitoring candidate performance in clinical experiences, collecting and synthesizing program data, and intervening proactively to address any logistical, interpersonal, dispositional, or program concerns. The Coordinator will work closely with and under the direction of the Director of English Education and must effectively collaborate with students, field professionals, and other faculty and staff. This is a non-continuous position with an initial appointment from August 1, 2025, through May 31st, 2026, with renewal contingent on available funding and performance.
